Virginia High School Basketball - Galax falls to Fort Chiswell

January 6, 2023: Galax, VA 24333

In Friday's league match, the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers basketball team scored a good 48-40 triumph over the Galax Maroon Tide.

In their next game, the Pioneers meet the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a Mountain Empire match, on Tuesday, January 10. Fort Chiswell will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Bears enter the match with a 5-7 record after their 41-33 league loss to Grayson County (Independence, VA).

With the defeat, Galax moves to 6-6 on the year. The Maroon tide host Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to meet the Spartans in a Mountain Empire match on Tuesday, January 10. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 0-9. Giles lost 58-49 in their recent non-league match against Narrows (Narrows, VA)
