North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence tipped by East Mecklenburg

February 3, 2023: Charlotte, NC 28212

The East Mecklenburg Eagles basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Independence Patriots to 62 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 17-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Charlotte Catholic for a 4A Conference 59 contest on Tuesday, February 7. East Mecklenburg will meet a Cougars team coming off a 47-44 league win over Butler (Matthews, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 19-4.

The Patriots (13-9) will now prepare for their contest against Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC). The CMS Athletics enter the 4A Conference 59 contest with a 7-14 record. In their last contest, Rocky River was nudged by Providence (Charlotte, NC), 84-72, in a league contest.
