Iredell Dragons (Iredell, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Covington Owls (Covington, TX), 58-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Iredell upgrades its record to 8-14 on the season. The Dragons host Kopperl (Kopperl, TX) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, February 2. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 7-14.

Next up, the Owls play the Blum Bobcats (Blum, TX) in a 1A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, February 2. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 17-11 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 2-17 record after their 62-57 league loss to Morgan (Morgan, TX).
