The Walnut Springs Hornets basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Covington Owls to 43 in the Hornets league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 11-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lingleville for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 20. Walnut Springs will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 42-36 non-league win over Zephyr (Zephyr, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 19-14.

The Owls (18-14) will now prepare for their contest against Huckabay (Stephenville, TX). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 22-11 record. In their last contest, Huckabay ran past Strawn (Strawn, TX), 87-47, in a league contest.
