The Walnut Springs Hornets basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Meridian Yellowjackets to 58 in the Hornets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hornets now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Iredell for a 1A Region III District 20 contest on Friday, January 26. Walnut Springs will battle a Dragons team coming off a 58-54 league loss to Morgan (Morgan, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 7-12.
