Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Walnut Springs Hornets (Walnut Springs, TX), 67-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Meridian upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Rio Vista (Rio Vista, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 27. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-14. Rio Vista lost 42-41 in their recent non-league bout against Cayuga (Cayuga, TX)

Next up, the Hornets play the Bynum Bulldogs (Bynum, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 29. Walnut Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 40-35 non-league loss to Abbott (Abbott, TX).
