Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Northern Patriots (Owings, MD), 80-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Great Mills upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Hornets host Westlake (Waldorf, MD) to play the Wolverines in a Southern Maryland bout on Friday, January 13. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 3-5. Westlake lost 74-71 in their recent league bout against McDonough (Pomfret, MD)

Next up, the Patriots play the Huntingtown Hurricanes (Huntingtown, MD) in a Southern Maryland bout, on Friday, January 13. Northern will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 54-50 league win over La Plata (La Plata, MD).
