Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Giltner Hornets (Giltner, NE), 39-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Shelby-Rising City upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Huskies host Sandy Creek (Fairfield, NE) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 10. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Sandy Creek lost 37-34 in their recent non-league bout against Centennial (Utica, NE)

Next up, the Hornets play the Nebraska Lutheran Knights (Waco, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Giltner will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 49-46 non-league loss to Northland Lutheran (Mosinee, WI).
