Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians (7-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Woodville (Woodville, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 5-5 record. In their last challenge, Woodville edged Livingston (Livingston, TX), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets face the Tarkington Longhorns (Cleveland, TX) in a non-league test, on Thursday, August 21. Chester will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Longhorns go into the test with a 2-8 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Bridge City (Bridge City, TX).
