High school basketball transfers: Brandon McCoy, Aziz Olajuwon headline impact players on the move

See list that includes over 200 players, including highly-regarded seniors Latrell Allmond, Tajh Ariza, Toni Bryant, Cole Cloer, Alex Constanza and Caleb Holt.

Elite high school basketball programs have reloaded once again this off-season through the prep version of the transfer portal. La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.), Link Academy (Branson, Mo.), Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.)Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.)Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (Dallas, Texas)Prolific Prep (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)Spire Academy (Geneva, Ohio) and Southeastern Prep Academy (Orlando, Fla.) are among teams who have made the biggest splashes.

The biggest names on the move are top 25 Class of 2026 prospects Tajh ArizaToni BryantAlex ConstanzaCaleb Holt, Brandon McCoy and Ethan Taylor.

Ariza joins a loaded St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) squad that features five-star senior Christian Collins and promising sophomore Cameron Anderson. Holt is joined by top 10 Class of 2027 prospects Nasir Anderson and Bruce Branch III at Prolific Prep and McCoy teams up with top 50 senior Maximo Adams at Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.).

Taylor joins top 20 Class of 2027 prospect Davion Thompson at Link Academy, Constanza is joined by highly-regarded Class of 2027 prospects King Gibson and Jaylan Mitchell at Spire Academy and Bryant headlines a new-look Zephyrhills Christian Academy (Zephyrhills, Fla.).



Top 10 Class of 2027 prospects Obinna Ekezie and C.J. Rosser headline an upstart Southeastern Prep Academy squad that includes four-star incoming juniors Beckham Black and Griffin Starks among others.

Top 10 prospect had a strong summer, including winning MVP honors for the USA U16 National Team at the FIBA AmeriCup.

Top 50 senior joins a loaded LuHi squad that is poised to begin the season among the teams to beat in the Nike EYBL conference.

Second team MaxPreps All-America selection put up 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per contest to lead the Justices to the No. 9 spot in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

The son of 18-year NBA veteran Trevor Ariza tallied 27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists per contest to help the Comets reach the quarterfinals of the Division II state tournament. The highly-regarded prospect joins a loaded roster.

Top 50 Class of 2027 prospect was one of three sophomores selected to the Class 6 All-State team last season with averages of 16.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Helped the Panthers capture the Conference 6A Division 1 state championship, averaging 9.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds per contest. The younger brother of Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black follows his head coach to the Sunshine State upstart.

6-5 | Wing | Class of 2026
Guided the Cougars to the Class 4A state semifinals, putting up 20.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per outing. The four-star guard will look to help Kevin Boyle establish a new program into a national powerhouse.

Bruce Branch III, Prolific Prep

MaxPreps Sophomore All-America honorable mention selection averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per outing to help Perry capture its fourth consecutive state title and finish the year ranked No. 4 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

6-9 | Forward | Class of 2026
Dominant interior presence tallied 21.0 points, 11.8 rebounds and 6.5 blocked shots per game to earn MaxPreps Junior All-America honors.

Despite missing half of his junior season due to injuries, the top 20 Class of 2026 prospect averaged 29.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest across 14 games.

Following a season with Sunrise Christian Academy in which he averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest in Nike EYBL Scholastic action, Chronister heads back to his home state for his senior year.
