High school softball rankings: Kenton Ridge of Ohio climbs in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 after opening season with five straight wins

No. 19 Crown Point of Indiana also begins season with victory.

Among the risers in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings, Kenton Ridge (Springfield, Ohio) opened the 2026 season by winning five straight games and extending its win streak to 37 dating back to last spring. The Cougars jumped one spot to No. 14. 

Junior Ohio State commit J.J. Davis along with stellar sophomores Lily Foulk and Ivee Rastatter lead the way for Kenton Ridge, combining for 30 hits already this season. Rastatter also has a 5-0 record in the circle with 34 strikeouts in 31 innings.

Pace (Fla.) moved up two spots to No. 16 after going 4-0 last week. Junior Hannah DeMarcus struck out 49 batters over 21 innings. The Auburn commit has 174 punch-outs this season and 592 since the start of her sophomore campaign.

No. 19 Crown Point (Ind.) opened its season Monday with an 11-1 victory over Kankakee Valley (Wheatfield). The defending state champions were led by Miami-Ohio signee Paige Liezert, who had 12 strikeouts over five innings. Lulu Johnston, Ashlyn Kita, Evi Cuevas, Eva Govert, Stella Doffin and Anna Neal all drove in runs for the Bulldogs.

The top 10 teams all stayed the same after going a combined 19-0 over the past week. Eight of those squads are in action today, including No. 1 Orange Beach (Ala.), which takes on Northview (Bratt, Fla.). The Makos are going for their 20th win of the season and are led by stellar sophomore M.K. McMullan, who is 14-0 with a 0.21 ERA in 2026.
