St. John's Islanders (John's Island, SC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix (North Charleston, SC), 67-28 in a league bout.

With the win, St. John's upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Islanders travel to Charleston Math & Science (Charleston, SC) to clash with the Riptide in a A Region 8 game on Friday, January 13. The Riptide enter the game with a record of 1-14. Charleston Math & Science lost 59-49 in their recent league game against Lowcountry Leadership (Hollywood, SC)

With the defeat, Palmetto Scholars Academy moves to 4-7 on the year. The Phoenix travel to Cross (Cross, SC) to face the Trojans in a A Region 8 game on Friday, January 13. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 7-5. Cross won 49-23 in their recent league game against Baptist Hill (Hollywood, SC)
