New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), 82-52 in a league bout.

With the win, New Hanover upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Wildcats host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to play the Screaming Eagle in a 3A/4A Mideastern bout on Friday, January 26. The Screaming Eagle go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Ashley lost 47-44 in their recent league bout against Hoggard (Wilmington, NC)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern bout, on Friday, January 26. Laney will attempt to upgrade on its 14-2 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 47-44 league win over Ashley (Wilmington, NC).
