In Friday's league outing, the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad edged the host West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), by a count of 64-61.

The Mavericks (6-11) will now prepare for their outing against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Titans go into the 3A/4A Queen City outing with a 13-4 record. In their last outing, Hopewell held off Harding University (Charlotte, NC), 76-64, in a league outing.
