North Carolina High School Basketball - Hopewell nips Mallard Creek

Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Hopewell upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Titans travel to West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC) to play the Lions in a 3A/4A Queen City bout on Friday, February 2. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 8-12. West Charlotte lost 51-48 in their recent league bout against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Mavericks play the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Mallard Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 51-48 league win over West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC).
