Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mars overwhelms New Castle

February 8, 2024: Mars, PA 16046

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) and the visiting New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), saw Mars's basketball squad wallop New Castle by a tally of 59-32.

With the victory, Mars improves its record to 11-10 on the campaign. The Fightin' Planets travel to Montour (McKees Rocks, PA) to play the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Monday, February 12. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 8-15. Montour lost 46-43 in their recent league challenge against Moon Area (Moon Township, PA)

Next up, the Hurricanes play the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals (Youngstown, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 9. New Castle will attempt to improve on its 1-16 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 43-36 league loss to Ursuline (Youngstown, OH).
