Virginia High School Basketball - Fort Chiswell trounces Galax

February 16, 2023: Max Meadows, VA 24360

The Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 62-40 in Thursday's league test.

The Pioneers (17-7) will now prepare for their test against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Maroons go into the non-league test with a 17-5 record. In their last test, George Wythe walloped Auburn (Riner, VA), 48-38, in a league test.

The Maroon Tide now own a 14-10 record. They play next when they host Auburn for a Mountain Empire test on Saturday, February 18. Galax will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 48-38 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 11-13.
