The South Mecklenburg Sabres overwhelmed the visiting Palisades Pumas softball squad by a count of 14-3 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Sabres meet the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, April 9. South Mecklenburg will attempt to upgrade on its 10-8 season record.

The Pumas (6-11) will now prepare for their challenge against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC). The Warriors go into the non-league challenge with a 13-2 record. In their last challenge, East Gaston toppled Burns (Lawndale, NC), 4-2, in a league challenge.
