New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Connersville Spartans (Connersville, IN), 56-47 in a non-league match.

With the victory, New Castle advances its record to 4-7 on the year. The Trojans host Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN) to face the Cougars in a Hoosier Heritage match on Friday, January 17. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 9-2. Greenfield-Central won 60-55 in their recent league match against Mt. Vernon (Fortville, IN)

The Spartans now own a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Seton Catholic for a non-league match on Wednesday, January 15. Connersville will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 60-51 non-league win over Union County (Liberty, IN). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-8.
