North Carolina High School Basketball - Piedmont crushes Central Academy

January 15, 2024: Monroe, NC 28110

Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC), 68-22 in a league bout.

With the win, Piedmont upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to clash with the Wolf Pack in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout on Friday, January 19. The Wolf Pack go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Parkwood won 60-22 in their recent league bout against Monroe (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a 2A/3A Rocky River bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Central Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 60-40 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).
