North Carolina High School Basketball - Piedmont nips Porter Ridge
January 17, 2023: Monroe, NC 28110 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), saw Piedmont's basketball squad hold off Porter Ridge by a tally of 59-56.
With the victory, Piedmont improves its record to 13-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a 4A Conference 58 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 4-14. Cuthbertson lost 66-39 in their recent league challenge against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC)
Next up, the Pirates play the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Conference 58 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Porter Ridge will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a 9-9 record after their 58-53 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).
