North Carolina High School Basketball - Porter Ridge edges Sun Valley

The Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) basketball nipped the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), 48-47 in Friday's league test.

The Pirates (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers go into the 4A Conference 58 test with a 12-5 record. In their last test, Piedmont got by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 60-52, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host Cuthbertson for a 4A Conference 58 test on Tuesday, January 17. Sun Valley will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 73-64 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-13.
