North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe nips Sun Valley

Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), 50-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Monroe upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Redhawks travel to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 19. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 8-1. East Mecklenburg won 66-65 in their recent league bout against Butler (Matthews, NC)

Next up, the Spartans play the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 20. Sun Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 54-38 non-league win over Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
