Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the host Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC), saw Sun Valley's basketball squad overcome Weddington by a tally of 60-51.

With the victory, Sun Valley improves its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Spartans host Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC) to confront the Mavericks in a 4A Conference 58 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Mavericks come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Marvin Ridge won 68-62 in their recent league challenge against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

Next up, the Warriors confront the Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) in a 4A Conference 58 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Weddington will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record. The Panthers come into the outing with a 14-5 record after their 51-31 league win over Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC).
