North Carolina High School Basketball - Sun Valley knocked off by Piedmont

The Piedmont Panthers basketball team scored 59 points and held the host Sun Valley Spartans to 46 in the Panthers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Panthers now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a 4A Conference 58 contest on Friday, February 3. Piedmont will battle a Mavericks team coming off a 54-53 league win over Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 11-10.

The Spartans (10-11) will now prepare for their contest against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates enter the 4A Conference 58 contest with a 11-11 record. In their last contest, Porter Ridge was defeated by Weddington (Matthews, NC), 70-61, in a league contest.
