Virginia High School Basketball - Bishop O'Connell thwarts Gonzaga
January 2, 2024: Arlington, VA 22213 The Bishop O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC), 65-57 in Tuesday's league test.
The Knights (12-2) will now prepare for their test against Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA). The Cardinals go into the VISAA Division I test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Bishop Ireton notched a victory over Kennedy (New Orleans, LA), 57-29, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 11-1 record. They play next when they travel to Montverde Academy for a non-league test on Friday, January 5. Gonzaga will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 73-59 non-league win over Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 14-0.
