Illinois High School Basketball - Mercer County trounces Wethersfield
January 20, 2023: Kewanee, IL 61443 The Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL) basketball crushed the host Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL), 62-36 in Friday's league test.
The Golden Eagles (12-6) will now prepare for their test against Biggsville West Central (Biggsville, IL). The Heat go into the Lincoln Trail test with a 2-19 record. In their last test, Biggsville West Central was trounced by Danville (Danville, IA), 54-32, in a non-league test.
The Flying Geese now own a 9-10 record. They play next when they travel to Knoxville for a Lincoln Trail test on Tuesday, January 24. Wethersfield will encounter a Blue Bullets squad coming off a 41-39 non-league win over Farmington (Farmington, IL). The Blue Bullets record now stands at 12-9.
