The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 74 points and held the visiting Valley View Tigers to 44 in the Sabercats league triumph on Friday.

The Sabercats now sport a 18-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rowe for a 5A Region IV District 31 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Vela will meet a Warriors team coming off a 80-25 league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 15-13.

The Tigers (6-19) will now prepare for their contest against Sharyland (Mission, TX). The Rattlers enter the 5A Region IV District 31 contest with a 7-17 record.
