Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), 53-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Andrean upgrades its record to 19-3 on the season. The Fighting 59ers travel to Hebron (Hebron, IN) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 4-17.

Next up, the Kougars play the Rensselaer Central Bombers (Rensselaer, IN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Kankakee Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Bombers go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 69-33 non-league win over Frontier (Chalmers, IN).
