New York High School Basketball - Chautauqua Lake nips Sherman
January 23, 2023: Sherman, NY 14781 Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds (Mayville, NY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sherman Wildcats (Sherman, NY), 56-49 in a league bout.
With the win, Chautauqua Lake upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Thunderbirds host Clymer Central (Clymer, NY) to play the Pirates in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - II West bout on Friday, January 27. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 10-3. Clymer Central lost 55-35 in their recent non-league bout against Salamanca (Salamanca, NY)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Westfield Wolverines (Westfield, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - II West bout, on Friday, January 27. Sherman will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 62-40 league win over Panama (Panama, NY).
