Michigan High School Basketball - Westwood holds off Iron Mountain
January 26, 2023: Ishpeming, MI 49849 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) and the visiting Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI), saw Westwood's basketball squad hold off Iron Mountain by a tally of 49-46.
With the victory, Westwood improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Marquette (Marquette, MI) to confront the Redmen in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Redmen come into the challenge with a record of 7-6. Marquette lost 78-57 in their recent non-league challenge against St.Ignace (St. Ignace, MI)
Next up, the Mountaineers confront the North Central Jets (Powers, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 30. Iron Mountain will attempt to improve on its 9-1 season record. The Jets come into the challenge with a 9-1 record after their 67-47 non-league loss to Kingsford (Kingsford, MI).
