McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cross County Cougars (Stromsburg, NE), 39-27 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McCool Junction upgrades its record to 15-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Meridian (Daykin, NE) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 14-4. Meridian won 39-34 in their recent non-league bout against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE)

Next up, the Cougars play the Nebraska Lutheran Knights (Waco, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Cross County will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 60-30 non-league loss to Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE).
