Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) and the visiting Cross County Cougars (Stromsburg, NE), saw McCool Junction's basketball squad knock off Cross County by a count of 46-29.

With the victory, McCool Junction upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Hampton (Hampton, NE) to play the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 3. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Hampton lost 52-22 in their recent non-league challenge against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE)

Next up, the Cougars play the Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE) in a C2 District 7 challenge, on Friday, December 2. Cross County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
