Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA) and the visiting Council Cobras (Council, VA), saw Grundy's basketball squad wallop Council by a tally of 89-32.

With the victory, Grundy improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Golden Wave host East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. East Ridge lost 82-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Lawrence County (Louisa, KY)

Next up, the Cobras play the Twin Valley Panthers (Pilgrims Knob, VA) in a Black Diamond challenge, on Friday, February 2. Council will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 41-39 league win over Hurley (Hurley, VA).
