Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Rich Township Raptors (Olympia Fields, IL), 59-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Thornwood upgrades its record to 16-10 on the season. The Thunderbirds travel to Kankakee (Kankakee, IL) to play the Kays in a Southland bout on Friday, February 3. The Kays go into the bout with a record of 18-7. Kankakee lost 57-54 in their recent league bout against Bloom (Chicago Heights, IL)

Next up, the Raptors play the Thornridge Falcons (Dolton, IL) in a Southland bout, on Friday, February 3. Rich Township will attempt to upgrade on its 14-10 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 6-19 record after their 58-55 league loss to Thornton (Harvey, IL).
