In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Cross County Cougars basketball team scored a good 59-50 triumph over the McCool Junction Mustangs.

The Cougars (16-2) will now prepare for their contest against Nebraska Lutheran (Waco, NE). The Knights go into the non-league contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Nebraska Lutheran topped Hampton (Hampton, NE), 59-46, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the East Butler Tigers (Brainard, NE) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 4. McCool Junction will attempt to better on its 14-4 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 17-1 record after their 64-59 non-league win over Osceola (Osceola, NE).
