In Friday's league test, the Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) basketball squad trounced the host Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA), by a score of 83-50.

Next, the Bruins clash with the Tallwood Lions (Virginia Beach, VA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, February 1. Western Branch will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Lions enter the match with a 6-10 record after their 52-35 league win over Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA).
