The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) and the visiting Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), observed Lakeland's basketball team edge Western Branch by a score of 65-63.

The Cavaliers (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against King's Fork (Suffolk, VA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, King's Fork was tipped by Woodson (Fairfax, VA), 62-55, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bruins encounter the Manor Mustangs (Portsmouth, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 21. Western Branch will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 55-52 league loss to Norview (Norfolk, VA).
