The George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) basketball edged the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), 66-64 in Friday's league bout.

The Maroons now possess a 13-2 record. They play next when they travel to J.I. Burton for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 1. George Wythe will play a Black Raiders team coming off a 66-23 league win over Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA). The Black Raiders record now stands at 14-1.

With the loss, Fort Chiswell falls to 15-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Mountain Mission (Grundy, VA) to play the Challengers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 1. The Challengers go into the bout with a record of 10-1.
