In Thursday's league match, the visiting Shafter Generals basketball team scored a good 53-37 triumph over the Taft Wildcats.

In their next game, the Generals meet the McFarland Cougars (McFarland, CA) in a South Sequoia match, on Tuesday, January 10. Shafter will attempt to move on its 7-11 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 8-7 record after their 70-55 league loss to Chavez (Delano, CA).
