In Friday's league match, the visiting Coal City Coalers basketball team scored a good 51-39 triumph over the Reed-Custer Comets.

In their next game, the Coalers meet the Manteno Panthers (Manteno, IL) in a Illinois Central 8 match, on Monday, January 8. Coal City will attempt to better on its 13-2 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 10-7 record after their 38-19 league win over Herscher (Herscher, IL).

With the defeat, Reed-Custer moves to 9-9 on the year. The Comets travel to Lisle (Lisle, IL) to meet the Lions in a Illinois Central 8 match on Monday, January 8.
