The Schaeffer Academy Lions basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Mabel-Canton Cougars to 50 in the Lions league triumph on Monday.

The Lions now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wabasha-Kellogg for a A Section 1 contest on Thursday, January 12. Schaeffer Academy will meet a Falcons team coming off a 69-54 non-league win over Alden-Conger (Alden, MN). The Falcons record now stands at 5-4.

The Cougars (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Spring Grove (Spring Grove, MN). The Lions enter the A Section 1 contest with a 4-1 record.
