In Friday's league outing, the West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) basketball squad nipped the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 85-82.

The Lions (3-2) will now prepare for their outing against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Hawks go into the 3A/4A Queen City outing with a 3-3 record. In their last outing, West Mecklenburg was tipped by Chambers (Charlotte, NC), 84-31, in a league outing.
