The West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) basketball nipped the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), 48-47 in Friday's non-league test.

The Colts (1-7) will now prepare for their test against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 3-5 record. In their last test, Mount Pleasant was tipped by Albemarle (Albemarle, NC), 64-40, in a league test.
