Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) and the visiting Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), saw North Stanly's basketball squad hold off Anson by a tally of 70-68.

With the victory, North Stanly improves its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Comets host Cabarrus Charter (Concord, NC) to play the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 28. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Cabarrus Charter lost 81-63 in their recent league challenge against Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 22. Anson will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 69-51 non-league win over North Stanly (New London, NC).
