Texas High School Basketball - Stevens can't hold off Taft

The Taft Raiders basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the host Stevens Falcons to 57 in the Raiders league victory on Friday.

The Raiders now sport a 12-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sotomayor for a 6A Region IV District 29 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Taft will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 73-58 league loss to Harlan (San Antonio, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-16.

The Falcons (15-6) will now prepare for their contest against Brennan (San Antonio, TX). The Bears come into the 6A Region IV District 29 contest with a 16-6 record. In their last contest, Brennan edged Warren (San Antonio, TX), 56-47, in a league contest.
