The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Bloom Blazing Trojan (Chicago Heights, IL) and the host Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL), observed Bloom's basketball team edge Thornton by a score of 53-46.

The Blazing Trojan (18-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL). The Raptors come into the Southland challenge with a 20-7 record. In their last challenge, Rich Township edged Crete-Monee (Crete, IL), 56-38, in a league challenge.
