West Virginia High School Basketball - Nitro thwarts Point Pleasant

February 2, 2024: Nitro, WV 25143

The Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) basketball knocked off the visiting Point Pleasant Big Blacks (Point Pleasant, WV), 58-43 in Friday's non-league test.

The Wildcats (13-1) will now prepare for their test against Wayne (Wayne, WV). The Pioneers go into the Cardinal test with a 4-9 record. In their last test, Wayne went down by Logan (Logan, WV), 64-50, in a league test.

The Big Blacks now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they host Grafton for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 8. Point Pleasant will confront a Bearcats squad coming off a 64-61 non-league win over Trinity Christian (Morgantown, WV). The Bearcats record now stands at 6-8.
