The Parkland Matadors edged the host Coronado Thunderbirds softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Matadors meet the Montwood Rams (El Paso, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 27. Parkland will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Rams enter the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 19-4 non-league win over Chapin (El Paso, TX).

The Thunderbirds (5-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Bel Air (El Paso, TX). The Highlanders enter the non-league challenge with a 1-12 record. In their last challenge, Bel Air edged Ysleta (El Paso, TX), 13-5, in a non-league challenge.
