The Alexander Central Cougars basketball squad (Taylorsville, NC), was outscored 55-43 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)

With the victory, Watauga advances its record to 14-6 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to meet the Panthers in a 3A/4A Northwestern battle on Friday, February 7. The Panthers enter the battle with a record of 3-18. Hibriten lost 71-64 in their recent league battle against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)

The Cougars now own a 10-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Caldwell for a 3A/4A Northwestern battle on Friday, February 7. Alexander Central will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 86-65 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 14-6.
